TYPES OF THERAPY

THE MAIN MODE OF THERAPY I USE IS: 

COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY

CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors all interact.

How you think about a situation or problem is going to affect how you feel.

How you feel in turn affects what you do and where you are comfortable and at ease.  

I AM ALSO TRAINED IN:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which aims to help people identify their core values, live more in the moment, accept thoughts and feelings without judgment, and live in a way that aligns with their values. 

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which aims to help people better manage their emotions, especially those that are painful, and to decrease conflict in their interpersonal relationships.

I AM A CERTIFIED PROVIDER OF:  

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy, a specific type of CBT that has been shown to be effective in reducing the negative symptoms of PTSD, by helping to challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs related to the trauma.
